How to Fix Background Data Disabled Error in Android

How to Fix Background Data Disabled Error?

You can easily fix this Issue by Turning On the Background Data for the Apps. Here’s how to do it:

For Android 7.0 or Higher:

  • Go to your device’s Settings app
  • Tap Network & internet
  • Tap Data usage > Data saver
  • If data saver is off, you don’t have to do anything. If data saver is on, continue to next step.
  • Tap on Unrestricted data access
  • Scroll down and tap the Google Play Store
  • Tap the app or service you wish to turn on

For Android 5.0 and 6.0

  • Go to Settings of your Phone
  • Tap on Wireless & Networks Section
  • Go to Data Usage > Cellular Data Usage
  • Make sure you’re viewing the network for which you want to view or restrict app data usage
  • Scroll down and tap the Google Play Store
  • Tap Background data > Unrestricted data usage

For Android 4.4 or Lower:

  • Go to Settings of your Phone
  • Go to Wireless & Networks Section
  • Tap on Data Usage
  • Tap on Three-Dotted Menu in the top right corner
  • Check on the box next to “Auto-sync data
  • Click Ok on the Dialog Box “Turn auto-sync data on?”

Note: On some devices, your background data options may be under Settings > Battery & Data Manager > Delivery > Background data.

Alternate Method:

If you aren’t able to fix the Issue using the above methods, you can try using the Fix given below to Turn on background Data on your Android. This method will work on all versions of Android to Fix Background data disabled Android Error. Here’s how to do it:

  • Go to Settings Menu of your phone
  • Go to Apps Section
  • Tap on the App that is showing the Issue
  • Tap on Data Usage Section of the App
  • Here, you can find the Option to Turn On Background Data
  • You can also try Turning On Unrestricted Data Usage
